SB 1555 (2026) - Replace the Quality Education Model with a new school cost model
Backed by Sen. Janeen Sollman and Rep. Ricki Ruiz, it would have replaced the Quality Education Commission's cost model with one built by a nonpartisan contractor. It died in the Senate Education Committee in the 2026 short session; lawmakers expect to revisit school funding in 2027.
